Poppycock Sketchbooks and stuff
Prepping for the little show yesterday and today at the awesome Secret Headquarters in LA. ( for details check their site or the right hand side of my website here )
Apparently pieces are already selling and the thing hasn't even opened yet...crazy people! But thanks a ton too.
The sketchbooks look amazing ( took delivery of em yesterday ) and they'll make their debut tonight at the show thing for $12.50 as a special price. Signed, in colour and b/w 32 pages of ladies bits and "leprotica". There's only 250 of the buggers, the rest making their way with me to places like the Philippines and France, and if any are left ultimately online probably, though that'll be awhile.
Here's a piece all framed up and ready at the store. To everyone going, hope you dig it! There'll be a good representation of my work over the last couple of years including Wormwood, 30 Days of Night and a bunch of other things.
And here's some raccoons...first I'm I've ever seen any. Shutup, they're exotic to me. All I get is Kangaroos in the backyard!

Hardcore bitches. Finishing up Wormwood comic pages at connecting airport on my way to LA. If it has to get done, it *has to get done* really.
I'm out around the globe currently, partly for my art show, partly for a certain movie I had a little hand in and partly for a bunch of signings internationally that will bloody kill me.
The first thing you should always do when you get to America, is go to a "Save-On" ( depressing retail store where old people go to die ) and look for anti-Urine products to mock at 1am. ( no, those are not my hands )

Sidebar and Comixtreme Interviews
2 days out from international flight. Still far too much work to get done. Not including packing, a much needed haircut and injections at the travel doctors needed to protect my precious lilly white arse from exotic diseases before I visit the bowels of South East Asia...but anyway...
Been busy blabbing about everything, and probably making an arse of myself in the process, so have a laugh at the results!

My favourite villains are back.
Christopher Ryan, best known for playing super-cool Mike in the classic comedy series The Young Ones, is set for a guest-starring role in an upcoming Series Four adventure.
Ryan will play a Sontaran leader in the story, due to begin filming in the next few weeks.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be appearing in this new Doctor Who," Chris revealed. "The last time I appeared in Doctor Who was in 1986, Colin Baker was the Doctor and I was still a Young One."
The story in question was the Trial Of A Time Lord, where Chris starred as the slug-like Mentor Kiv alongside Trevor Laird, who played Martha's dad in 2007.
If you know your Who lore, the Sontarans will need no introduction. If you're a newer viewer, however, you may not know that the Sontarans are amongst the greatest villains from the classic series of Doctor Who.
A military, warlike species, able to clone vast armies of themselves, the Sontarans are locked into an eternal struggle with their enemies the Rutans.

30 Days of Night: Red Snow #1 (IDW Publishing)

IDW has really been pumping out the 30 Days of Night spinoff series since the success of the original title five years ago, and for a while, I gobbled them up. My interest in those stories waned, though. Obviously, with the advent of the 30 Days movie upon us, IDW is keeping the vampire stories flowing. Red Snow caught my attention, in part because it features the artwork of the original 30 Days artist Ben Templesmith. But what piqued my interest even more is the fact that Templesmith wrote this story as well. He does a great job with the property, offering up the strongest followup since the original limited series. He takes the reader to a different far-north setting from which the property derives its name, but he also takes the audience back in time as well. The result is a fresh take on the notion of vampires running amok during a lengthy arctic night. Three disparate groups — Russian Allied soldiers, German aggressors and frightened Russian villagers — face a horror even greater than the bloodshed of the Second World War. The vampires are clearly the antagonists, but even the victims/protagonists have distasteful souls among their numbers. It makes for a multi-faceted storytelling dynamic that sets Red Snow apart from typical horror fare. Of course, as anyone who’s checked out the original 30 Days of Night knows, Templesmith’s art is perfectly suited to bringing the dark setting and feral villains to life. He does a great job of conveying the remote and decades-old setting. Red Snow boasts an extensive cast of characters, and Templesmith’s three-pronged approach to the story makes for a riveting, unpredictable read. 9/10
